The 2d tour Infoday

START 2th round Infoday was organised by ISM in Kiev (Ukraine) at16 May 2013. The aim was to present innovation programs for research and create new superhard materials.

The theme of seminar was: "Nanotechnology and advanced materials and new production technologies in the new program for research and innovations EU HORIZON 2020 " The principal investigator attended the meeting: Prof. Nikolay Novikov, Prof. Tatiana Prikhna, Prof. Sergiy Klimenko, Prof. Volodymyr Turkevych, Ph.D. Ludmila Kisterska for V.N. Bakul Institute for Superhard Materials of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (ISM);

Contact person from the different institutes and organizations such us: Department of Science Management Presidium of the NASU Scientific manager, Contact Point 7 AC EU in the direction of "Nanomaterials, Nanotechnologies, Materials and new Production Technologies, Frantsevich Institute for Problems of Materials Science, D.K. Zabolotny Institute of Microbiology and Virology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, E.O.Paton Electric Welding Institute and others.

 

The information day started with the welcome speech of Mykola Novikov, director of Institute for Superhard Materials of the NASU. Academic Mykola Novikov emphasized the importance for Ukrainian scientists develop the ability to compete in a global world and to become more active participants in international cooperation.

The FP7 Project START "Boosting EU-Ukraine cooperation in the field of superhard materials" was presented by Dr. of Sc. Yuri NIKITIN. The information about the project START consisted of project’s main objectives and strategy concept of ISM until 2020 that includes 4 main directions:

- The development of cooperation ISM with scientific centers the EU

- Promotion of competencies ISM

- Exchange of scientific knowledge and best practices

- Personnel training.

Also the up-to-date obtained results of projects START were presented.

In the context of project START the scientific and technical potential of ISM and development of Institute’s cooperation with European research organizations was presented.
