The 2d scientific seminar in Kiev
Second scientific seminar was organized in Ukraine, Kiev at V.N. Bakul Institute for Superhard Materials (ISM) where key researchers from UNIPRESS have presented potential common projects to be developed with Ukrainian researchers. The seminar has three aims: a) To develop the Joint Scientific-Technical Projects in the area of Functional Materials for Innovative Industry by the key researchers from various laboratories of the UNIPRESS and Institute of Superhard Materials specifically in the area of: - nanocomposites consists of a supercooled glass forming liquid/polymer and nanoparticles; - microwave solvothermal synthesis technology for nanoparticles production, and LTHP (Low Temperature High Pressure technology) for nanoparticles consolidation; - specific topics of athermal food preservation - high pressure processing (HPP) of foods – Pascalization. b) To enable the transfer of knowledge in the area of integration of fundamental with applied research and to submit the innovative products made in ISM to UNIPRESS website; c) To represent the results of research of young Ukrainian scientists to European Material Society and to organize their presentations at 2 days workshop "Nano and Advanced Materials Workshop and Fair" during EMRS fall meeting 2013, 14-18.09 in Poland, Warsaw. Event Aggregate Data Seminar
Seminar Objectives The Second scientific seminar was devoted to discussion of investigation topics of different research groups of Institute for Superhard Materials as well as UNIPRESS. The main attention has been paid to developing the Joint Scientific-Technical Projects in the area of Functional Materials for Innovative Industry by the key researchers from various laboratories of the UNIPRESS and Institute for Superhard Materials specifically in the area of nanocomposites consisted of a supercooled glass forming liquid/polymer and nanoparticles, microwave solvothermal synthesis technology for nanoparticles production, and LTHP (Low Temperature High Pressure technology) for nanoparticles consolidation, specific topics of athermal food preservation - high pressure processing (HPP) of foods – Pascalization. The joint projects will be focused on: - Material research regarding HP cylinders for high pascalizators; - Food HP Processors/Pascalizators; - Design&materials for HP Pumps; - High pressure homogenizators for foods. Ukrainian seminar participants shared their experience of the use of scientific results for the development of productive technologies and tools which can be used for solving of the problems in the above described areas. Polish scientists have been informed by the scientists from ISM - Dr.Sci. O.Bochechka - Dr.Sci. A.Maystrenko - Prof. T.Prikhna - Dr.Sci E. Pashchenko - Dr. L.Kisterska about the potential ISM input in coming joint projects in the area of developing of composite materials and nanotechnologies. As a result of discussion a draft of Cooperation Agreement between ISM and UNIPRESS has been developed and the possible calls of FP7 and new program "Horizon 2020" was allocated.
