Info-day in ISM

The Information day "Thematic priorities of FP7 opened calls and opportunities for Ukrainian organizations participation" that was organised in Kiev, Ukraine by V.N. Bakul Institute for Superhard Materials of the National Academy of Sciences with a support of START project consortium partners.

One of the most important aims of START project is to upgrade the cooperation in the field of Superhard Materials between EU and Ukraine in key areas of mutual interest in order to create substantial socio-economic benefits for all actors as well as to increase the innovation solutions usage in countries-participants, enhancing, as a result, the international cooperation, boosting scientific personal links, etc. This info-day was conducted to be one of the instruments to perform this task and, moreover, was organized as an awareness-raising event.

Ukrainian scientists, inventors, innovation entrepreneurs (in total 41 participants visited the Info-day ) received new information on existing opportunities of project proposals preparation within the 7FP opened calls in such topics as nanosciences, nanotechnologies, information and communication technologies, energy, transport, environment.

The info-day was conducted in the beneath listed formats: speeches of representatives of the START project, presentation of opportunities of cooperation between Ukrainian organizations and ISM; speeches of experts; speeches of info-day participants; discussions on possible project proposals.

Many interesting information such as: Scientific-technical potential of V.N. Bakul ISM and the development of its cooperation with business, FP7-NMP Calls - "Nanoscience, nanotechnologies, materials and new production technologies”, FP7-ICT and FP7-SME Calls – “Information-communication technologies”, Research for the benefit of SMEs, Technologies transfer and social networks, The main procedure stages of a project proposal preparation and partner search in FP7 etc. were presented.

According to feedback that was received at the end of an info-day all participants admitted friendly atmosphere as well as favorable environment. General impression was rather positive.
